Stitches!

On Monday night we were at the park by Grandma's house and Grace jumped off the equipment and cut her knee in the sand.  We don't know if it was a rock or possibly glass, but it sliced her knee deeply in a 1/2-inch cut.  Thank god Grandma is a nurse and knew that it needed stitches so we headed to Hoag Irvine ER to get it checked out.  Grace was very brave, but she cried a lot during when the doc "sewed her up".  She has three stitches, but you'd never know it just a few days later.  She is back to herself and gets the stitches removed next week.  What a trooper....but a scary situation all around :(

Palm Springs & Graduation

I went to Palm Springs with one of my best friends from college last weekend.  We went out to dinner on Friday night and spent all day Saturday at the pool drinking champagne spritzers.  It was so wonderful to have lots of time to catch up and RELAX.  On Saturday night we went to El Paseo and came home late Sunday morning.  While I was away Aunt Ashley graduated from college!! Mike and the kids had fun celebrating with the fam.

Mother's Day

I had a great Mother's Day and was very spoiled with so many nice gifts.....but best of all.....we had a great time with family.  Everyone came to our house for a BBQ lunch and then all the girls went to see The Great Gatsby.  I am so incredibly lucky to be Grace and Cami's mommy.  They are amazing little girls and I sure felt the love this weekend thanks to my awesome husband :)

Mommy & Me Day

Today was my last "mommy & me day" with Grace at her preschool.  We took pictures, made a picture frame, face painted, played games, did the cakewalk, had snacks & I got a great hand massage.  Her school does a super job putting it together....lots of crafty teachers :) Nani & Cami played candyland, had snacks and made art together while we were at G's school.  I'm looking forward to mommy & me day with the Camster next year!

Dentist Success!

I tried taking Grace to my dentist about a year ago and she screamed bloddy murder and wouldn't even let the sweet hygenist in her mouth.  It was so frustrating / embarassing that I put off trying again for an entire year (yes, my child is over 5 and has not been to the dentist).  Well, we recently found a pediatric dentist that her friend recommended, tried again, and it was a HUGE success.  The dentist was so nice and sweet that even Cami is willing to go at this point!  It was cool to see all her adult teeth on the xrays.  The only part she didn't really like was the marshmellow flavored flouride. Yep, that's the flavor my child chose. 

Springing Ahead

I've been keeping busy this Spring and these 2 little girls of mine are growing so quickly!  I've decided to take-up blogging a bit more & just refreshed the 'ole template with a cleaner, simple look. My plan is to continue to improve it.  Grace is busy wrapping-up TK.  She is officially signed-up for (full day) Kindergarten and will stay at her current Christian school.  She loves gymnastics with her best buds Audrey & Faith, and is looking forward to a fun summer of swim lessons, camps and VBS's.  Cami is in potty training mode & adores being with her big sis.  She is still our happy lovebug and I can't believe she is starting preschool in Sept!  A couple of upcoming events for us: I'm going to Palm Springs in 2 weeks with two girlfriends and our family is going to Montana the first week of June for a vacation at Papa's river home. :)
